Bipartisanship is not dead, at least not in Kansas City.

Staffers from the regional offices of both Sen. Roy Blunt and Sen. Claire McCaskill met up for dinner Monday night, despite their different party affiliations and a controversial race between McCaskill and her Republican challenger, Rep. Todd Akin. About a dozen folks gathered at the home of McCaskill's regional director, Corey Dillon, who was responsible for cooking. According to McCaskill's office, this was the first time staff from the two Missouri senators got together to break bread. They dined on beef tenderloin and potatoes, and as far as we know, no jokes about the "legitimacy" of the meal were made.

Neither senator attended, though McCaskill tweeted a photo of the dinner table. "Good stuff," she wrote, adding a hashtag of "#bipartisanship."
