Three Montgomery County men have been arrested for beating a Rockville man and slicing him repeatedly in the head and face with broken glass bottles, according to authorities.

Andres Jose Cortez, 20, and Kevin Reynold Valdez, 19, were arrested on Nov. 8 for the attack four days earlier at a party on the 1400 block of Silo Way in Silver Spring. A 22-year-old Rockville man got into a dispute with a group of people he didn't know at the party over his beer before the group assaulted him, according to police.

The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Cortez, of Silver Spring, was charged with attempted second-degree murder and first-degree assault. Valdez, of Rockville, was charged with first-degree assault and conspiracy.

A third suspect, 17-year-old Silver Spring resident Christian Javier Ayala, was arrested on Nov. 14 and charged as an adult with first- and second-degree assault, police said.

All suspects are being held without bond.

The arrests are a part of an ongoing investigation of a series of assaults and robberies in the Wheaton and Good Hope areas of Montgomery County, according to police. All the incidents under investigation involve members of an area gang known as "Little R" or "La Raza."
