Obama campaign manager Jim Messina revealed this morning that Steven Spielberg told him to “blow up” Obama’s 2008 campaign structure while preparing for 2012.

“Stephen gave me a great piece of advise,” Messina said. “He said ‘Jim you just kind of have to blow up the ’08 campaign.’”

Messina added that Spielberg compared them to the Rolling Stones.

“He said, ‘You’re only the 1965 Rolling Stones once, and the second time you charge too much for your tickets,’” Messina recalled.
