After a reporter asked how President Obama was planning to engage in the messaging war over the “fiscal cliff,” White House Press Secretary said that he didn’t want to “ruin the fun” of fiscal cliff negotiations.

The reporter reminded Carney White House’s hashtag campaign on Twitter during last year’s battle over the payroll tax cut extension with Republicans.

Carney admitted that the White House had a “variety of things” planned to engage the American people on the issue but declined to go into detail.

“It would ruin the fun, if I gave you all the details now,” Carney said with a smile.
