During the White House Press Briefing this afternoon, Press Secretary Jay Carney explained that “the topics will be many” during President Obama’s lunch with Mitt Romney.

Carney added that Obama “expressed interest” in bringing Romney to the White House for lunch suggesting that the President was looking forward to hearing his ideas.

“He was obviously was a successful businessman, and I’m sure has some ideas that I’m sure the President will find helpful,” Carney said about Romney, praising his record on running the 2002 Olympics.

"It will be a substantial lunch, if not on the plate, then in discussion," Carney said.

Carney denied the possibility raised by reporters that Obama might appoint Romney to a cabinet position, but added that Obama was interested in a "variety of issues including the president's interest in making the federal government more efficient."
