Apparently NBC sports commentator Bob Costas hasn't spoken his last word on banning handguns.

Two days after he ranted about how a gun was responsible for the death of Kansas City linebacker Jovan Belcher, who took his life and his girlfriend's, Kasandra Perkins, Costas has now scheduled an interview tonight with MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell.

The network just said, "MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell speaks with NBC's Bob Costas tonight Tuesday, December 4 for Costas' first television interview since his comments during NFL Sunday."

On Wednesday, Costas appears on Fox's The O'Reilly Factor, a big deal considering it's outside the MSNBC/NBC family.

After his controversial comments, Costas issued a statement saying that he didn't mean them the way they came out. A spokesperson said Costas "feels an unfortunate leap was taken that he was advocating taking away Second Amendment rights. He was not."

Here's what he said during the Sunday Night Football broadcast: "In the coming days, Jovan Belcher's actions and their possible connection to football will be analyzed. Who knows? ..... If Jovan Belcher didn't possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today."

Below is MSNBC's note:
