A woman was stabbed and raped before she was able to escape and get help from workers at a supermarket, police said.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, the suspect, an acquaintance of his victim, held the woman against her will at his house, stabbed her and sexually assaulted her at his home. Around noon Monday, he then forced her into her vehicle and drove her to the Food Lion, in the 100 block of Crain Highway North in Glen Burnie.

Authorities said the woman was able to alert the store's staff without the victim's knowledge. Store employees called police.

Shane Lee Miller, 37, was charged with first degree rape, robbery, false imprisonment and other charges.

The victim was taken to a hospital and has since been released.
