During an interview with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie this morning, Barbara Walters asked him if he was “too heavy” to be the President of the United States.
“There are people that say you couldn’t be president because you’re so heavy,” she said, after admitting she was “uncomfortable” asking the question. “What do you say to that?”
“That’s ridiculous. That’s ridiculous,” Christie replied. “I don’t know what the basis for that is.”
“I think they’re worried about your health,” Walters asserted.
Christie explained that he had done just find running the State of New Jersey and put in 18 hour days during the state’s response to Hurricane Sandy.
“I don’t think that would be a problem,” he said.
