Prince George's County Police collected about 160 guns Saturday in exchange for $100 gift cards, as part of a continuing effort to reduce gun violence in the county.

The police department collected the guns for about four hours at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Laurel, filling two rubber totes full of handguns and three cardboard boxes with long guns, according to a police posting on Twitter. Ammunition was also accepted.

Police said they collected about 300 guns through two prior exchanges, as well.
