Vice President Joe Biden will lead a White House effort for more gun control after the horrific mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, according to a report by the Washington Post’s Scott Wilson and Philip Rucker.

The President has asked all of his cabinet members to come up with a series of proposals that the White House could push in the coming weeks.

According to the report, White House officials said the legislation “will probably include ideas to address mental illness and the violence depicted in popular culture — a strategy aimed at focusing the proposal on more than limiting gun ownership.”
