The Alexandria Police Department is investigating whether the thefts of two of its cruisers last week were related.

Late Thursday night or early Friday morning, a 2006 Ford Crown Victoria was taken from a parking lot at 2727 Duke St. It was found Friday afternoon in Prince George's County, and a Remington 870 shotgun and a Panasonic Toughbook Mobile Computer had been taken, police said.

At 4:35 a.m. on Saturday, a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria that had been seen parked and locked Friday night was noticed missing from a lot in the 1500 block of Princess Street. Shortly after the cruiser was reported missing, it was found in Northeast D.C., police said. Nothing was taken from it.
