Fairfax County police are investigating what they called the "suspicious" death of a Gainesville-area man found dead in a car crash Friday evening.

An officer found a minivan that had crashed into a barrier at the end of a service road just off of Chain Bridge Road in the Vienna area at about 7 p.m. Friday, according to authorities. The driver was found dead in the van, but evidence suggests the driver's injuries may not have been caused by the crash, police said.

The victim has been decribed as a 19-year-old man. The medical examiner's office is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Fairfax County police at 703-691-2131 or call Crime Solvers at 866-411-8477. Tips can also be texted to 274637.
