A Prince William County police officer has been killed when his motorcycle struck another vehicle when he was responding to a call.

At about 2 p.m. Monday, Chris Yung, 35, was responding to another crash when his motorcycle collided with a minivan at the intersection of Nokesville Road and Piper Lane, police said. Yung was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

Yung had a Prince William County police officer for seven years and had been assigned to the traffic unit as a motorcycle officer.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the mini-van was making a left-hand turn into a shopping center and crossed in front of the oncoming motorcycle.

The crash investigation is continuing. No charges have been filed.
