Funeral scheduled for fallen Prince William County Police officer

A funeral will be held Friday for the Prince William County Police officer killed in the line of duty this week.

A service for Officer Chris Yung will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hylton Memorial Chapel, located 14640 Gideon Drive in Woodbridge. The viewing will take place Thursday evening at the chapel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Yung, 35, died Monday after his motorcycle struck a 2001 Dodge Caravan that had crossed Nokesville Road in front of him, police said. He is the third officer in the department to be killed while on duty.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in Yung's memory can write a check to the Prince William County Police Department with a memo line reading, "In memory of Officer Chris Yung." Funds will be sent to Law Enforcement United.
