Montgomery County woman charged with lying to get housing subsidy

A Montgomery County woman has been charged with misrepresenting her income in order to quality for a housing subsidy.

Montgomery County police said Bernadette Hall, 45, of Olney, altered two of her paychecks in 2012, making it appear that she was making less money than her actual income. As a result, Hall received an extra $2,600 in rent subsidies.

Hall, of the 3600 block of Winter Laurel Terrace, has been charged with two counts of forgery of a private documents, theft of between $1,000 and $10,000; and making a false statement for the purpose of influencing a housing agency.
