Anne Arundel police nab murder suspect

Anne Arundel County police arrested a man Saturday suspected of murdering a Westminster, Md., man earlier in the day.

Maryland State Police charged David Montgomery, 28, with first- and second-degree murder after police found him driving a van owned by Edward Zepp, a 61-year-old Westminster resident who was killed in his home Saturday morning.

Anne Arundel police found Montgomery after receiving calls of an erratic driver in a van. Officers found Montgomery and the van in a convenience store parking lot and took him into custody. Montgomery is being held in Carroll County.

Montgomery was a roommate of Zepp's from 2011 until last summer. He has had no fixed address since then.

The motive in the homicide is unknown, and determination of the cause of death is pending an autopsy.
