Three pedestrians injured in Montgomery County crashes

Three pedestrians were injured in crashes in Montgomery County on Monday evening, police said.

One of the crashes occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Monday on Wisteria Drive just north of Route 118 in Germantown. According to a preliminary investigation, a man was crossing Wisteria Drive outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a white 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis.

The pedestrian, whose identity had not yet been confirmed, was taken to a hospital. He was in grave condition late Monday night, Montgomery County police said. The Mercury's driver, a 51-year-old Germantown man, stayed at the scene.

Another crash took place at about 8:40 p.m. at Shady Grove Road and Route 355 in Gaithersburg. In that incident, a man and a woman were struck by a vehicle and were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Innocenti said.
