Retrial begins for P.G. cop accused of stealing seized guns

The retrial of a Prince George's County police officer accused of stealing guns that were seized from criminals began Wednesday. Juan Carter is charged with multiple counts of theft and misconduct in office. His first trial on these charges resulted in a hung jury. Carter was a member of a state gun task force. He was charged as a result of a police investigation that was looking into why several guns that had been seized by the task force were missing. A police spokeswoman said Carter is suspended without pay from the department.
