Former Prince Georges soccer coach found guilty of child sexual abuse

A former soccer coach at a private Landover high school has been found guilty of five counts of child sexual abuse.

Charles Vasser, 35, of Seat Pleasant was found guilty of sexually abusing a 15-year-old student athlete at the Riverdale Baptist School in Landover from October 2008 to July 2009, according to Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks. He was the coach of the girl's soccer team.

Vasser is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 8 in the Prince George's County Circuit Court. He faces more than 100 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.
