An 18-year-old man used a sawed-off shotgun to rob eight people in a Silver Spring hotel room, police said.

Jackson Julius, Aspen Hill, entered the Homewood Suites Hotel on Colesville Road after 11 p.m. Friday, according to Montgomery County police. A female guest of the hotel was having a party in one of the hotel's rooms when Julius knocked on the door. Assuming he was a guest, she let him in and he produced the shotgun and robbed the guests in the room.

Julius was apprehended on a Ride On bus a short time later by police, and officers say he had a duffle bag full of the stolen items and the gun.

He is charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and other related firearm offenses.
