A 6-year-old girl who was missing from the District was located on Wednesday in Arkansas, police said.

Eriona Birts had been missing since the evening of Jan. 31, when she was last seen at her home on the 2000 block of E Street NE. The girl was found safe in Arkansas with her mother, who was not supposed to have custody. The girl is with family services in Arkansas, and authorities on Wednesday were working to reunite her with her father, D.C. police spokesman Officer Araz Alali said.
