Mustang driver critically injured in collision with CSX train

The driver of a 2001 Ford Mustang has been critically injured in a collision with a CSX train in Prince George's County, police said.

The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on Brandywine Road near Ice Plant Road. According to a preliminary investigation, the Mustang was trying to cross the railroad tracks when it was struck by an oncoming CSX train. At the time of the collision, the lights at the railroad crossing were flashing red.

The Mustang's driver was ejected from the vehicle ND suffered serious head trauma, police said. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
