A Montgomery County teenager is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday for his role in a shooting at the Rockville Metro station that took place last year.

Tavares Harris, 18, was convicted in December of first-degree assault and a handgun offense. He faces a maximum of 45 years in prison, according to a spokesman for the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office.

Harris provided the gun that his Richard Montgomery High School classmate Kevin Nguyen used in a shooting at the Rockville Metro station in May 2012. Two people were shot: a teenage boy who allegedly threatened to rob Nguyen, and a young woman who was a bystander, according to a court document.

Nguyen pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder and a handgun charge and is scheduled to be sentenced in March.
