President Obama will leave Friday to vacation in West Palm Beach, Fla., squeezing in some rest and relaxation a few days after giving his State of the Union address.
The White House announced the trip Wednesday and said that no public events were scheduled during the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend. Obama will travel to Atlanta on Thursday and Chicago on Friday to continue his public push for the progressive agenda outlined in his State of the Union speech.
Obama recently vacationed with his family in Hawaii, a trip that was interrupted by negotiations over the so-called fiscal cliff. The president returned to the Aloha State after a deal was struck in early January.
