A Culpeper mother was ordered to serve 10 days in jail for slapping a school-bus driver, the Culpeper Star Exponent reported.

Bethany Lynn Rudd, 33, was found guilty of assault and battery. She was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in jail, with 20 days of that sentence suspended.

Rudd admitted in court on Wednesday to hitting now-retired bus driver Helen Gibson on Dec. 14, while Gibson was dropping elementary school students off at their neighborhoods, the Star Exponent reported.

Rudd said that her 7-year-old son told her that Gibson said she would kill him if he didn't sit down. But Gibson denied that she said that.
