Prince George's County police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place Wednesday morning in Seat Pleasant.

About 9 a.m., officers were called to the 6900 block of Opal Place for an armed robbery in progress at a townhouse. When officers arrived at the home, they surrounded it, said Prince George's County police spokesman Lt. Bill Alexander.

One officer encountered at least one of the men suspected in the armed robbery. The officer discharged his or her weapon, but it wasn't immediately clear whether any of the suspects were struck, Alexander said.

No police officers were injured during the incident.

One of the men suspected in the armed robbery was apprehended, and the other one fled the scene. Police recovered two firearms: one which was inside the townhome and one which was outside of it.

Police did not know Wednesday morning what was taken during the robbery.
