Prince William County police say a man who robbed a bank in Woodbridge on Saturday has been arrested after robbing another bank in North Carolina.

Russell Culbreth, 34, of New Cumberland, W.Va., took an unspecified amount of money from a teller at the Burke and Herbert Bank on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge on the morning of Feb. 23, according to police.

After the North Carolina robbery on Tuesday, the FBI worked with Prince William County police to determine that Culbreth was the same suspect they sought in connection with the Woodbridge bank robbery.

In total, Culbreth has been charged in three states with three bank robberies: West Virginia on Feb. 19, Virginia on Feb. 23 and North Carolina on Feb. 26.The Hancock County Sheriff's Office in West Virginia described the robbery there as similar to the one that happened in Woodbridge: The suspect slipped the bank teller a note demanding money, took the cash and fled.

Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok said the county has set a tentative court date for April 17, after Culbreth has completed court proceedings in North Carolina.
