President Obama claimed during a fireside hangout” on Google+  earlier this month that he has fulfilled his campaign promise to run “the most transparent administration in history,” but it seems Americans don’t agree.

By and large, voters say Obama’s administration is less transparent or as transparent than previous administrations, a new Fox News poll finds.

Just twenty-six percent agree President Obama has met his 2008 presidential campaign commitment to openness and that his administration is more transparent than others.

The poll found that 37 percent of voters think the Obama administration is less open and transparent than previous administrations, and another 35 percent say it is about as transparent as others. That makes a majority of voters who disagree with the president’s claim.

Even among Democrats, only 38 percent say Obama’s statement was true. Republicans strongly disagreed with the claim, 58 percent say this administration is less transparent than previous ones.
