On Twitter last night, liberal filmmaker Michael Moore mourned the death of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez reminding his followers that Chavez wasn’t necessarily the demon painted by the United States.
Moore revealed that he actually met Chavez at Venice Film Fest in 2009.
“We spoke for over an hour,” Moore recalled, posting a picture of him and the Venezuelan dictator. “He said he was happy 2 finally meet someone Bush hated more than him.”
Moore defended Chavez as a “democratically-elected President.”
“Hugo Chavez declared the oil belonged 2 the ppl,” Moore explained. “He used the oil $ 2 eliminate 75% of extreme poverty, provide free health & education 4 all.”
