Metro to host three open houses on Silver Line

Metro planners will host three open houses next week to inform riders about the new rail and bus service accompanying the opening of the Silver Line, expected late this year.

The events will feature informational exhibits, opportunities for riders to give feedback and activities for children.

The first phase of the Silver Line, expected to open later this year, will extend Metrorail to Reston through Tysons Corner. The second phase, to Loudoun County through Washington Dulles International Airport, isn't yet under construction.

Planners met with riders at several train stations this week about the new Silver Line.

The open houses will take place at the following places and times:

Tuesday, March 12

5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Faith Temple #2 Baptist Church

Capitol Heights

Thursday, March 14

5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Reston Community Center - Hunters Woods

2310 Colts Neck Road

Reston

Saturday, March 16

11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Sheraton Crystal City Hotel

1800 Jefferson Davis Highway

Arlington
