A 65-year-old Silver Spring woman has been arrested in connection with the December shooting death of her cousin, a police spokeswoman said.

Claire Rice, of Silver Spring, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of first-degree murder in the death of 58-year-old Anthony Garland Rice, according to D.C. police.

The victim's body was found with gunshot wounds on Dec. 17 in the 3100 block of Fort Lincoln Drive NE, which is near the D.C.-Maryland border. The remains of Rice, a Northwest D.C. resident, were then taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
