Defensive end Adam Carriker restructured his contract to stick around in Washington, not that he was ever worried. All along Carriker said he knew what the Redskins had in mind and that he wouldn’t be cut.
Carriker also knows what the Redskins plan is for him on the field: return to the starting lineup. For the email report, he also talked about his recovery, when he expects to return and why he can’t wait to play again in this defense.
He also said he experienced something new last summer when it came to the Redskins’ pass rush. It’s why he’s optimistic about how things will go if everyone is healthy.
“When we played Buffalo and Chicago and Indianapolis I felt like it wasn’t a question if we would get there, we felt who would get there first?” Carriker said.
Meanwhile, there are a few other nuggets including on tight end Fred Davis and what might be behind the so-called interest from Cleveland (not buying it; at least not to the degree it’s been portrayed). And here’s what one Redskins source said about Davis and the team:
“Mike and Kyle [Shanahan] believe there are five players on every team that are elite. They think Fred’s one of them. They want him back. They might down play it. He has more value to them than anyone else. He fits exactly what they want.”
There’s also a little bit about what I’ve heard about corner Aqib Talib, not about how close he is to a deal but what would the Redskins get if they do sign him (as a few people in the league I’ve spoken with expect)?
