In Colorado, gun control measures are moving their way forward in the state legislature, thanks to prominant support from Democratic lawmakers.

A bill expanding background checks passed last week as well as a 15 round limit on ammunition magazines. Both bills await Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper’s signature.

But Weld County Sheriff John Cooke in Colorado has signaled that he won’t be enforcing the laws restricting gun owners.

“They’re feel-good, knee-jerk reactions that are unenforceable,”  Cooke explained to the Greeley Tribune.
