President Obama’s spokesman wouldn’t say if the administration intends to extradite Amanda Knox to Italy, where the country’s highest court has ordered she face retrial for murder charges.

“This is a legal matter that is, I think, still in process,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters. “I just don’t have any comment on it.”

Knox and her then-boyfriend wer initially convicted of murdering her housemate in Italy, but they were “freed on appeal in 2011 largely on the grounds DNA evidence was flawed,” per the Daily Mail.

Italy cannot require Knox to return to the country for the trial, but it can seek her extradition if she is convicted.
