Fisker Automotive, which has received $193 million in government subsidies, is reportedly poised to lay off “a large number of workers today,” after previously furloughing one-third of its staff.

“A person briefed on the matter says electric car maker Fisker Automotive will lay off a large number of workers at its California headquarters on Friday,” according to the Associated Press.

Fisker makes the Karma, an electric sports car that costs over $100,000. The company was supposed to employ 2,500 workers at a plant in Delaware, but that factory remains idle.
