Seven hundred veterans of the military’s special operations forces have signed a letter asking for a House of Representatives committee investigation into the Benghazi terrorist attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Libya last year.
The letter was organized by retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. “Jerry” Boykin by Special Operations Speaks, a nonprofit organization established by special operations veterans.
“It appears that many of the facts and details surrounding the terrorist attack which resulted in four American deaths and an undetermined number of American casualties have not yet been ascertained by previous hearings and inquiries,” the letter reads. “Additional information is now slowly surfacing in the media, which makes a comprehensive bipartisan inquiry an imperative. Many questions have not been answered thus far.”
The letter, first reported by Breitbart News’ Kerry Picket on Sunday, supports H.R.. 36 – a resolution calling for a House investigation into the attacks sponsored by Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va.
Seventy-four additional members of Congress have supported the bill.
