A 71-year-old Oxon Hill man was killed when the trash truck he was driving struck an overpass in Southeast Washington.

It happened around 2 p.m. Monday at the junction of South Capitol Street and the M Street bride overpass. D.C. police said 1989 Mack truck was traveling south on South Capitol when the back of the vehicle struck the concrete and steel overpass, raising the front of the truck off the ground and ejecting the driver, identified as James Harvey Harris.
