Girl struck by vehicle in Northeast D.C.

A 9-year-old girl has been by a car in Northeast D.C., police said.

The incident took place shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday in the 2900 block of Central Avenue NE. The striking vehicle remained on the scene, but additional details about the crash were not immediately available.

The young pedestrian and the driver of the striking vehicle were both taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, D.C. police spokesman Officer Araz Alali said.
