It’s just a song: White House dismisses Jay-Z Cuba rap

During the White House press briefing Thursday, press secretary Jay Carney denied the Jay-Z rap that stated the White House gave him clearance for his trip to Cuba.

“I guess nothing rhymes with Treasury,” Carney smirked after Politico’s Donovan Slack questioned the White House role in the trip.

“It’s a song, Donovan,” Carney added with exasperation as she continued to press for an answer. “The president did not communicate with Jay-Z over this trip.”
