President Obama pledged that the United States would punish anyone responsible for the explosions at the Boston Marathon today, but he said that “people shouldn’t jump to conclusions” about the tragedy.

“We still do not know who did this or why and people shouldn’t jump to conclusions before they have all the facts,” Obama told reporters during a statement from the White House.  “Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups, will feel the full weight of justice,” he added.

Two explosions occurred today near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing at least two people and injuring dozens, according to initial reports.
