New: Capitol Police Investigating Suspicious Envelope

A day after a piece of Senate mail tested positive for the deadly poison ricin, Capitol Hill police are investigating a suspicious envelope in a Senate office building.

According to an email alert sent to staff, the police are investigating “a suspicious envelope on the third floor of the Russell Senate Office Building,” which houses Senators.

Employees and Senators are being asked to avoid the area and remain in their offices.
