A 5-year-old missing Fairfax County boy was found in Las Vegas on Wednesday, police said, and his mother was arrested.

Detectives on Wednesday received a tip that Cameron Serafin and his mother, Rebecca Serafin, had been seen at a hotel in Sin City. Las Vegas police then reviewed surveillance video from the hotel and confirmed that the pair had been there. After additional investigating, police located the mother and son nearby, Fairfax County police said.

Cameron was found in good condition and is being reunited with his father. His mother is being held as a fugitive from justice and awaits extradition to Virginia, where a warrant charges her with felony parental abduction, police said.

The boy spends alternating weeks living with his mother and with his father, but he was not returned to his father as he should have been on April 7. Cameron and Rebecca Serafin had then been seen at airports in Birmingham, Ala. and Las Vegas, on April 11.
