Trzcinski is an actress in the show "SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody," which is playing May 22-25 at the Fillmore Silver Spring. She plays Tasha Woode, who is inspired by the character of Anastasia Steele in the erotic romance novel "Fifty Shades of Grey."
Can you tell me a little bit more about the plot of "SPANK"?
The story is this housewife. Her husband and her kids are gone for the weekend, so she decides she's going to write a sex fantasy. She creates these two characters, who's me, Tasha Woode, the virgin, and the billionaire. ... The story is that she's creating a sex fantasy but in the moment she creates things that she thinks are sexy but they're not necessarily sexy. ... Sometimes she goes a little too far, and that's definitely where comedy ensues.
What is the most challenging thing about playing your character?
The most challenging thing about playing my character would have to be keeping a straight face. The show has a lot of improv, so there are a lot of new things thrown at us every day onstage and some things are so funny, I haven't heard them before, and it's hard to stay in character. The other hard thing is that we do improv with the audience, and you never know what kind of audience member you're going to get. Meaning, sometimes they don't want to talk at all, or sometimes they talk too much, or sometimes they drink too much and get a rowdier answer than you expected.
What are you most looking forward to about performing in Silver Spring?
I've heard great things about [Silver Spring], that it's very fun and that there's a lot of things to do. I've heard that the audiences there are a good theater crowd.
