A man was taken into custody after SWAT team members made contact with him at a Rockville home, police said.

Police received a call at about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday about a domestic situation in the 600 block of Azalea Drive.

A woman reported that she had felt threatened by a man who had a gun inside a home. The woman left the residence before she called police, according to Montgomery County police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Innocenti.

Montgomery County and Rockville city police then went to the house and initially were unable to make contact with the man. But eventually, negotiators from the county's SWAT team were eventually able to communicate with the man at the front of the residence, and the man surrendered at about 9:25 a.m. He was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation, according to police officials.

A weapon was not immediately recovered, but police are continuing to investigate the incident. No one was injured during the incident, and no charges had been filed as of about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
