Bethesda pedestrian struck in hit-and-run

A Bethesda woman remains hospitalized after being hit by a car whose driver then fled the scene, and authorities are asking the public for help in finding the driver and the vehicle.

According to Montgomery County Police, Michelle Eyre De Sam, 35, was crossing Rockville Pike at the crosswalk with Cedar Lane at about 9:30 p.m. Friday when she was struck by a passing vehicle.

De Sam was found unconscious in the roadway, and taken to a hospital in serious condition, where she remains. She is expected to survive.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who saw something suspicious to call police at (301) 279-8000.

Crimes Solvers is offering a reward of $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment in this felony crime.
