On this day, May 3, in 1984, an obese phone-sex mistress who harassed a wealthy Beverly Hills family was killed by a hit man.
June Cassandra Mincher, a flamboyant 245-pound prostitute who drove a lavender Rolls-Royce, became involved with Gregory Antonelli through one of her advertisements. He rejected Mincher after meeting her in person and seeing that she was not the woman in the photos. She responded by harassing Antonelli and his family.
His family hired a security firm that employed William Mentzer to protect them, and Mincher was killed a short time later.
An investigation revealed that Mentzer also had been hired to kill "Cotton Club" movie producer Roy Radin in 1983. Mentzer was convicted of both murders and sentenced to life in prison.
