A Fairfax County police cruiser was struck in a hit-and-run incident in the Annandale area over the weekend, police said.

About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, a dark, four-door sedan traveling westbound on Masonville Drive went through a stop sign and turned onto Gallows Road. The vehicle struck the rear quarter panel of a police cruiser that was heading southbound on Gallows Road, causing the cruiser to spin and hit a utility pole, Fairfax County police said.

After striking the cruiser, the sedan did not stop and continued toward Little River Turnpike. The police officer in the cruiser was not injured, police said.

Anyone with information can call Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS (8477).
