Ashley's got a (cyber)stalker

People don't often think about the negative effects of social media, but we're pretty sure Ashley Tisdale

is right now -- and for good reason.

According to someone in Ashley's camp, the "High School Musical" star has been sent 18,888 tweets by one "fan" since November of last year, TMZ reports.

First of all, who has that much time on their hands?!

Second of all, what could a person who has never met the 27-year-old possibly have to say to her? This is where it gets -- predictably -- creepier.

The stalker, who is believed to be a man, sent Ashley one tweet that read, "I'll never lose u baby even in 20 years til infinity you'll always b my best friend."

And another that said, "My body is yours & even as friends I ... love how I make u feel like mom maybe we both got issues cuz nobody's perfect."

The tweeter also penned this one: "Let it all out on me u can have my heart put a lock on it throw away the key & my soul is yours to keep."

You get the idea.

Apparently the fan was tired of sending love tweets out into the stratosphere only to get nothing in return, so he decided to try and get some face time with Ash. We're not sure if he actually met the star face to face, but the stalker did go to her home.

Luckily police have identified a suspect and are investigating the incident.

Angie pens revealing op-ed

The social media world is abuzz with talk of Angelina Jolie's just published New York Times op-ed revealing that she recently underwent a preventative double mastectomy.

In the article, titled "My Medical Choice," Brad Pitt's love writes that her mother succumbed to ovarian cancer after almost 10 years, at the age of 56, and that she herself has "a 'faulty' gene, BRCA1, which sharply increases my risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer."

With an "87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer," Angelina decided to undergo a three-month-long process to remove and then reconstruct her breasts, after which her chances of developing breast cancer dropped to less than 5 percent.

Throughout the arduous process, the 37-year-old had the "loving and supportive" Brad by her side, who himself called her choice "absolutely heroic."

Although Angie's course of action may not be for everyone faced with a high risk of cancer, "[Brad and I] knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has."

The normally private mother of six opened up to the world about this issue because "I hope that other women can benefit from my experience. Cancer is still a word that strikes fear into people's hearts, producing a deep sense of powerlessness. ... I choose not to keep my story private because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer. It is my hope that they, too, will be able to get gene tested, and that if they have a high risk they, too, will know that they have strong options."

We commend you, Angie, for your courageous choice and for opening up to help others in a similar situation.
