“I look forward to taking some questions at tomorrow’s press conference,” President Obama said last night, after announcing the resignation of Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller.

The president scheduled a noon press conference Thursday with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in honor of his visit.

Reporters, however, found themselves waiting outside in the rain for Obama, who was 47 minutes late.

Only New York Times reporter Mark Landler had an umbrella.

During the press conference, Obama asked U.S. Marines to hold umbrellas to shield both himself and the Turkish Prime Minister from the rain.

"I am going to go ahead and ask folks -- why don't we get a couple of Marines, they're going to look good next to us - just because I've got a change of suits -- but I don't know about our Prime Minister," he explained.
