Montgomery County police are investigating a stabbing of a teenager who had been playing basketball at Silver Spring park.

Around 6:40 p.m. Monday, two men approached a 17-year-old at Stonegate Park and tried to engage him in a conversation. The victim became scared and began to leave. The men followed him to Cobblestone Drive, where he was confronted by another male who stabbed him three times with a folding knife.

The three men then ran back into the park where they picked up a young girl, about 5 or 6 years old, that had been with the two men, and fled in a unknown vehicle.

The suspected stabber is described as a black male, about 18 years old, about 5-feet-10 and 225 pounds. He had Afro-styled hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts with stripes down the sides.
